Wirral Churches Art Festival Trail

Pupils at Kilgarth recently welcomed an invitation from Rev Paul Bentley to contribute to the Wirral Festival of Firsts Art Trail, with its theme of ‘Friendship and New Beginnings’. The Festival took place over two weekends 25/26 September and 2/3 October, giving everyone the chance to see works from talented Wirral artists, schools and community groups in some of the wonderful churches across the Wirral.

Mr McConnachie and Ms Lee led the group of Key stage 3 pupils as they worked extremely well together to design and create their floor to ceiling art  project which they titled The Tree of Life.  Sticking to the theme of Friendship and New Beginnings, they expressed togetherness with individual hand prints overlapping to show solidarity and resilience.

The tree represents a connection with the earth, displaying freedom, acceptance and joy. Its colours were chosen to correlate with those of the Wirral Churches community and its different faiths and diversities.

Elliot, Dennis and Yousaf were nominated to display the work at Christ the King Church.
