Safeguarding Alert 20th October 2017
We have received concerning information via our Safer Schools Police Officer that a male calling himself ‘Big Daddy’ is contacting students on snapchat. It appears groups of children mainly females are accepting him as a friend. Very quickly conversation becomes sinister and he is then sending indecent images and videos to students.
Can we remind parents and students to keep safe and not accept requests from people they do not know? Can we ask that parents be vigilant in checking on their children and gadgets they use.
If any parent does come across anything that causes alarm can you call 101 and log the incident, making a note of any user details and content. The main concern is to keep your child safe. The offender needs to be blocked off all devices and if necessary delete the app.
