On Tuesday 24th June, representatives from Kilgarth attended an awards ceremony at the House Of Commons to be officially presented with their Pearson Silver awards.
These prestigious awards are given for outstanding education. This year there were 59 prizes given from over 20,000 applicants. Kilgarth School won three of these – the first time this has ever happened in the 15 years since the awards were established!
- Ms Westlake ‘Outstanding New Teacher of the Year’
- Mrs Pullin ‘Outstanding Teaching Assistant of the Year’
Having been congratulated by MPs, the team enjoyed afternoon tea in the Members’ Tea Room.

We now look forward to a televised event in October to see if we have won the Gold Award.
