Feeding Birkenhead

The Aspire Schools Federation, including Kilgarth and Gilbrook,  works with the Feeding Birkenhead organisation and we aim to update links as soon as we have them.

A full list of centres is available from the website:

The phone number for Wirral Foodbank is 0151 638 7090 or 07947 387930

The Feeding Birkenhead organisation is also involved in Number Seven, a not for profit Citizens Supermarket, Cafe & Advice Hub.  Its aim is to help low-income people whose circumstances may be pushing them towards food poverty. The citizens supermarket is stocked with surplus stock from bigger retailers. It aims to be at least a third cheaper and in most cases even more and is membership based only.

Membership of Number Seven gains you access to the supermarket and 50% off in the cafe before 11:30am every day. To gain membership, certain criterial needs to be met.  Check out their facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/NumberSevenBirkenhead/

Wirral Emergency Food Hub and  Infobank

Wirral Emergency Food Hub has gone live.  Residents experiencing difficulties with welfare needs including accessing food can visit www.wirral.gov.uk/foodhelp.

Residents are also encouraged to use the Infobank by visiting www.wirralinfobank.co.uk for details of shopping and delivery services provided by community groups in their local area. The Infobank has an easy to-use search facility which shows what help is available, simply by inserting a postcode. The Infobank also has a list of social supermarkets in Wirral.
